Beales Hotels acquires The Bell Hotel in Saxmundham, launching a new era for the historic hotel.
Beales Hotels, the family-owned hotel group founded in 1769, is set to open a hotel in Suffolk this Spring following the first phase of a significant refurbishment. The Bell Hotel in Saxmundham is perfectly placed to access The Suffolk Coast and Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, as well as tourism hotspots like Aldeburgh, Snape and Southwold.
With plans in place for a phased sensitive, but extensive renovation, the striking grade II listed building will eventually feature 15 beautifully appointed rooms and suites. Beales Hotels is working with local businesses; Cotton Tree Interiors in Saxmundham, on the fresh and sophisticated interior design, and Brooks Architects in Leiston, who specialise in complex renovations. The fully refurbished bar, dining room and lounge will bring together comfort and style that suits both leisure and businesses travellers.
Consulting Chef Clive Dixon, will help to establish a quality food offering at The Bell Hotel, adding his creative style to the locally-sourced menu.
Ashley Beale, General Manager of The Bell Hotel, and ninth generation of the Beale family, explains: “This marks a new era for Beales Hotels as we bring our renowned service and hospitality to Suffolk. Suffolk has always been a holiday retreat for those in the know, and its popularity is growing year on year. Visitors love the natural beauty of the coastal towns and nature reserves like RSPB Minsmere, as well as the cultural heritage that can be explored at places like Sutton Hoo, Orfordness, Snape Maltings, Framlingham Castle and Bawdsey Radar. With so much to do and some exquisite local produce to feast on, we aim to make The Bell Hotel a destination venue for leisure travellers as well as a comfortable base for business travellers.”
“We are proud to add The Bell Hotel to our portfolio.” Adds Andrew Beale, Managing Director of Beales Hotels: “This development will be a welcome addition to Suffolk and will set a new standard for luxury accommodation in the area. The team and I can’t wait to start welcoming guests in May and building strong ties with our neighbours and the wider community.”
The acquisition of The Bell Hotel in Saxmundham comes as Beales Hotels continues to roll out its strategic growth plans.
