With a mouth-watering selection of dishes on offer for lucky diners from 28th March onwards. With the warmer weather and the welcome return of longer evenings, it’s definitely springtime in Suffolk!

Incorporating the best seasonal and local produce available, our menu now features exciting new dishes, including a range of starters. Options range from smoked haddock beignets and prawn bisque to crispy hen’s egg with asparagus. The Blythburgh ham hock terrine with piccalilli and toasted focaccia is also a highlight, offering a taste of traditional British flavours enhanced by the tangy bite of piccalilli.

As for the main dishes, seafood aficionados will love the fillet of sea trout, with sweet and sour cabbage, tomato, fondant potato, panko oyster and wild garlic oil – a dish that perfectly balances flavours. The lamb three ways, is an exciting addition,  featuring a two-bone rack, mini shepherd’s pie, and pulled lamb croquette, accompanied by crispy samphire, carrot, and red wine sauce, this dish is a lamb lover’s dream.  Of course, diners will still be able to enjoy some true classics such as the Bell Hotel cheeseburger and traditional fish and chips. And vegetarians need not worry, as the miso and chilli satay broccoli is a flavourful vegetarian option that doesn’t compromise on taste or texture.

A dining experience isn’t truly finished until dessert, and our updated menu features several delicious new options to enjoy. Lemon syrup sponge is a light and zesty option that pairs beautifully with lemon & vanilla jelly, candied hazelnuts, and basil mascarpone, and the potless crème brûlée with poached rhubarb is a creative twist on a classic, offering the perfect balance of tart and sweet.  And of course we still have our favourite’s such as our chocolate brownie and sticky toffee pudding.

Ashley Beale, General Manager of The Bell, shares his excitement about the new spring menu: “Our commitment to sourcing locally is at the heart of what we do at The Bell. The spring menu is a reflection of my own food passions and our connection to Suffolk. Our team is dedicated to showcasing the exceptional local ingredients we have access to, from outstanding meats to fresh fish and seafood. As we move away from the hearty dishes of winter, our spring and summer offerings emphasise the lightness and freshness of the season.”

As the weather warms up, The Bell’s beautiful terrace will soon open, offering an ideal spot for a leisurely lunch or an early dinner.
