Spring is one of our favourite times in the kitchen at The Bell.  The days get brighter, the ingredients lighter, and it gives us the chance to let fresh, seasonal produce do what it does best. Our Spring menu is all about balance, comforting where it should be, fresh where it needs to be, and full of flavours that feel right for the season.

To begin, we’ve kept things simple and expressive. With starters such as Gambas Pil Pil, which brings warmth and depth, while our Leek, Pea & Watercress Soup is fresh, familiar and full of spring character.

Main courses follow the same approach. Lamb Cutlets are rich and full of flavour, Sea Bass is treated lightly so the fish speaks for itself, and dishes like Chicken Supreme à la Crème and soft, pillowy Gnocchi offer a more comforting option without feeling heavy.

Alongside the main menu, our tapas selection remains a firm favourite and is ideal for sharing or grazing. Choose three small plates for £18, with options such as Suffolk Smokies, Green Pea Hummus, Goat’s Cheese Croquettes, and Crispy Pork Belly, perfect with a glass of wine and a bit of time to relax.

And while we love embracing the season and introducing fresh ideas, some things at The Bell never change. Our much‑loved classics remain firmly on the menu, cooked the way they should be. The Bell Cheeseburger is still everything it’s meant to be, generous and full of flavour, while our traditional fish and chips continues to be a favourite with crisp beer batter, perfectly cooked fish, and all the familiar comforts our guests return for time and again. It’s important to us that alongside seasonal dishes, there’s always room for the classics you know and love.

To finish, spring desserts keep things light. With plenty to choose from our favourites are a silky Panna Cotta and our Vanilla & Rhubarb Meringue, which rounds a meal off with just the right amount of sweetness.

Our Spring Menu is available Monday to Saturday, from 12.00–14.00 and 17.30–20.30, with two courses for £28 or three courses for £32. With the terrace now open, it’s a great time to sit back, enjoy good food, and make the most of the season.

We look forward to cooking for you.
